Ok, ok, ok, but why Tallow??

This whole journey began with me (Andrew) being fed up with the lack of sunlight and vitamin D available during the long Minnesota winters. Affective seasonal disorder is real, folks! I got all kinds of grumpy. Vitamin D in supplement form is fine but still poorly absorbed through your gut. I mean, think about it. We absorb things through our skin very well. That's why nicotine patches, topical painkillers, and topical anesthetics work. This sent me on a hunt for topical vitamin D sources and viola! TALLOW! Who would have thought? Packed with all the fat soluble vitamins.

This revelation got me thinking about the importance of paying attention to what I'm putting on my skin 👀. Tallow balm is simple. It's ACTUALLY all natural. It leaves your skin feeling AWESOME! Whether you're a mechanic that has had one or two or 500 knuckle busters, or your skin just needs a little boost in the dry winter time, tallow balm is the answer! It's merely anecdotal, but we have even had customers tell us the balm has soothed their eczema and psoriasis! (disclaimer - we aren't claiming our balm heals or cures eczema or psoriasis, that would be illegal)

Tallow balm isn't just for your hands, you can use it all over!

Tallow is one of God's gifts to use through another gift to us...COWS! Cows - the amazing creature that turns grass into steak. Thank you, Lord! 🙏🏼

Here are some amazing benefits of grass-fed/finished beef suet tallow

  • Nutrient-Rich Goodness: Grass-fed beef suet tallow, derived from pasture-raised cows, is packed with essential nutrients. The balm crafted from such suet can be a rich source of fat-soluble vitamins, including A, D, E, and K, offering comprehensive nourishment to the skin. It's Nature's Powerhouse: Just like the earth beneath your boots, grass-fed beef suet brings the raw power of nature to your skin. It's not your typical fancy city-slicker lotion; it's a balm crafted from the finest, pasture-raised beef – straight from the range.

  • Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA): Grass-fed beef is known to contain higher levels of CLA compared to conventionally raised counterparts. CLA is believed to have potential benefits for the skin, such as supporting skin elasticity and promoting a youthful appearance. It's like the muscle-building protein for your skin!

  • Fatty Acid Balance: Life is all about balance....am I right?? The fatty acid profile of grass-fed beef suet tallow closely mimics the composition of human skin lipids. This similarity enhances the absorption of the balm into the skin, contributing to a smoother and richer complexion.

  • Anti-Inflammatory Properties: Grass-fed beef is associated with higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids, known for their anti-inflammatory properties. A beef tallow balm derived from grass-fed suet may have potential anti-inflammatory effects, soothing irritated or inflamed skin. Who needs a fancy spa when you've got nature's remedy in a jar? The anti-inflammatory kick from the omega-3s in grass-fed beef suet tallow helps soothe those battle scars of life!

  • Moisturizing and Hydrating: The natural fats in grass-fed beef suet tallow can act as excellent emollients, providing deep moisturization to the skin. This helps in maintaining skin hydration, preventing dryness, and leaving your skin feeling smooth. Our balm isn't some dainty chemical filled concoction. It's the kind of hydration that matches the resilience of the mighty redwoods. Made from grass-fed suet, it dives deep, moisturizing your skin like a mighty rainstorm.

  • Skin Barrier Support: The fatty acids in grass-fed beef tallow may help reinforce the skin's natural barrier. A robust skin barrier is crucial for protecting against environmental stressors and maintaining overall skin health. Your skin is your armor, and grass-fed tallow is the blacksmith's masterpiece. The fatty acids in this balm strengthen your skin's defenses! St. Paul reminds us in Ephesians to "Put on the full armor of God". He probably wasn't talking about tallow but still, don't forget it!
